Omeath village is set in an idyllic location facing carlingford lough and the mourne mountains, with the cooley mountains forming the backdrop. It is a quite unspolit village, with numerous activities closeby. Golf, fishing, sailing, horse riding, hill walking, beautiful beaches, tain and carlingford adverture centres. Carlingford 3.5 miles away is a medieval village in a panoramic setting. It contains many award winning restaurants, as well as lively pubs. Newry in northern ireland, which has recently achieved city status, contains a number of excellent shopping centres and is renowned for 'bargains'. Dundalk town is 12 miles away and contains an oasis of shops, museums, restaurants etc.
