Abingdon cottage is a luxuriously decorated self catering cotaage in the centre of havelock north. It is an easy walk to the cafes, restaurants and bars of this village at the heart of wine country. It is quiet and secluded being concealed behind a stand of native bush. There is a queen (double)four poster bed with en suite shower room and a king (double)bed as well as two generously sized single beds in the twin bedroom. A contemporary and newly fitted kitchen gives onto the dining room and there is a comfortable separate sitting room. The house is furnished with the owners finds while travelling and working overseas: rugs from morrocco, japanese stools, beautiful hangings and stunning oil paintings, some of which are for sale. Off street parking and no smoking.

Hawkes bay is the napa valley of new zealand. With a delightful climate this traditional fruit growing area has taken up the example of those that founded wineries in the 19 century and now has a booming wine trade. The surrounding hills and particularly the majestic te mata peak under which havelock north sits provide a stunning backdrop to the area. Award winning golf couses, particularly the new course at cape kidnappers developed by julian robertson the owner of the famed kauri cliffs course will add a new element to the area.
