Quinta do carvalhal is situated at the entrance of the alentejan town of gavião in an area between the upper alentejo, the ribatejo and the beira baixa.It is in the centre of a region rich in historical remains, and we can see megalithic monuments, as well as roman, arab and medieval buildings, with a special mention for the castle of belver, which is in a unique location, being close to the ancient town of belver and on the river tagus.Quinta do carvalhal is an ancient farmhouse and has been the property of the ayres de seixas family, for several centuries.Its proximity to the belver, montargil and maranhão reservoirs means that water sports such as fishing, canoeing and water skiing can be enjoyed; there are also motor-boat trips.Promenades are possible in and around gavião, as well as to the private river beach.A swimming pool completes the offer at quinta do carvalhal as well as the possibility of all-terrain circuit with a road-book of the region
