Dating from the 17th century, the main house of quinta das vinhas is set in a large vineyard with views towards the sea and the mountains. the lushes of the plantation and the vineyards are magnificent; here you can find plants and flowers from all over the world. quinta das vinhas on the southwest coast of madeira, near the picturesque village of jardim do mar, discovered 6 years ago as a paradise for surfers. due the special location, the plantation enjoys a microclimate that offers excellent conditions for the growth of the grapes. in quinta das vinhas you live with the ancient and modern ways of agriculture and wine making, you can taste the fruits and if you like you can help with the harvest. the restored house now provides six double bedded-rooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as dinning, living and reading rooms. Antique furniture and madeiran old manor house deco; flagstone floors, “azulejos” (hand painted blue and white portuguese tiles) all creating a traditional portuguese atmosphere. dinner can be served on a daily basis request. the tab water is drinkable and maid service is every day, unless you decline. an entrance courtyard with oak trees, gardens and swimming pool (children must not be left unaccompanied at the pool area) add to the enjoyment of your stay. An hour’s drive from funchal, quinta das vinhas provides an ideal starting point for exploring the island. have a glimpse of paradise.
