One of the more remarkable and beautiful madeiran "quintas" or country estates. It is still owned by the same family that for generations played an intrinsic part of madeira's rich cultural heritage - especially in the field of madeira wine.Nestled comfortably in the higher altitudes of the mountains in and between santa cruz, machico, and funchal, the lush and verdejante gardens imbibe the visitor back to the cradle of mother nature's floral womb. It has often been said that a holiday stay at the quinta santo antónio da serra is as rejuvenating an expereince as a child traipsing through in eden's glorious sun filled pastures.The chalets all have homestyle comfort facilities. Easy chairs and sofas to relax in, large robust furniture and beds, modern kitchen equipment and an industrial strength water supply and infrastructure. real firewood is gatherd for the fireplaces for guests who love or miss a real wooden fireplace.All the self-catering apartments or chalets are independent units. That is, each apartment has its own entrance and is separated from any other for privacy. there are 12 units available. Some are joined together as in the picture alongside while some are two units together or alone. the three types of units available are as follows: chalets type a (5-8 guests): 4 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 dining room, 1 living room with fireplace, winter garden and its own telephone. chalets type b (1-2 guests): 1 double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, common and living room together with a fireplace, central heating and a telephone. chalet type c (2-4 guests): 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, common and living room together with a fireplace, central heating and a telephone.
