Rideau inn, c. 1916, on a quiet, shady, residential street in busy downtown ottawa, has been modernized, yet retains the charm of a century home with high ceilings, cornice mouldings, an impressive entry foyer with oak staircase and grand proportions. Our edwardian home has been decorated with antique furnishings to create an inviting cozy retreat with period appeal. The guest living room has cable tv/vcr, a video library, guest phone for free local calls and a gas fireplace with carved oak mantelpiece, perfect for warming up at after a brisk skate on the nearby rideau canal. The formal dining room is embellished with oak trim, floor and french doors leading from the living room. Breakfasts may also be enjoyed as well on the sunny, private, 3rd floor roof garden/deck during ottawa's great summer weather. Five large unique bedrooms share four bathrooms, and two more bedrooms have private en-suite baths. The manager, laura, lives off site so guests enjoy maximum privacy but can contact her or myself through our toll-free number should the need arise. We offer on-site pre-arranged $10.00/day parking or we can direct you to inexpensive lots nearby.
