Property Description

The house is a former watermill, particularly well-suited for those who love old stones and tradition. The mill itself is very old; it is already shown on maps drawn before the french revolution (1789)! the mill benefits from a four star classification by the tourist authorities in france. our guests love staying in the house for three major reasons: for it's ideal location, traditional style and modern equipment. The place is ideally located in the heart of dordogne/perigord noir (four miles away from the lascaux caves, 11 miles from les eyzies and 16 miles from sarlat) and also close to shops and restaurants (half mile) - a fundamental element in the land of gastronomy! despite being so close to the places of interest, you can thoroughly relax because the environment is totally quiet and you do not have to share the property with the owners or with other guests. The house is a former watermill which we restored in 2003, in the traditional style. the guests love the stone roof, called "lauze" roofing; it is typical but getting rarer and rarer in the region. The two millstones in the kitchen are also very impressive, not to mention the large fireplace and huge bread oven (the place also used to be the village’s bakery). All the furniture is in the local style. besides these traditional aspects, the house is well equipped with dvd player, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, traditional oven, washing machine, barbecue and garden furniture. since it was a watermill, a stream flows though the 10-acre property. One can relax by the stream but it can also be used for bathing and children love it! the house has been in the family for several generations so we have a deep knowledge of the area and can provide useful tips to make your stay unforgettable. amenities: fireplace, tv, vcr, dvd, cd player, full kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, cooking utensils provided, linens provided, washer & dryer, charcoal grill (bbq), garden furniture, table tennis, games for children, cots, equipment for babies
