A family resort with friendly climate isla canela is a beautiful natural ‘island’ on the very spanish costa de la luz (coast of light) with spectacular beaches, marina, golf course, promenade, cycle paths, leisure facilities, bars & restaurants, all in a well-tendered environment with much of the island designated a conservation area. The marina is a modern fully equipped leisure marina with all the facilities for yachting. Quayside along the harbour there are shops ,bars & restaurants catering to residents & mariners alike. Shops, bars and restaurants, including the superb fish restaurants at punta moral, all within a 5 minutes stroll, as is the beautiful beach with over 7 km of golden sand. It is connected, by road bridge, to the delightful andalucian town of ayamonte situated just inside the spanish border from portugal. isla canela enjoys modern and fast routes of communication to the peninsula and europe. The recent inauguration of the freeway a 49 that unites ayamonte with sevila, makes isla canela only one hour and quarter away from seville. freeway ip-1 links with the portuguese algarve. All this converts isla canela into a high-priority destination not only for the spanish market but for the european. isla canela is ideally located as a base to explore both western spain & the portugese algarve. to the east is seville, jerez & cadiz.To the north the upper reaches of the navigable river guadiana & mountains of aracena. To the west the fishing villages, resorts & beaches of the algarve are easily accessible for day trips. Lisbon is 350km. The temperate winter climate is due to the proximity with africa. Maximum summer temperature is 30 degrees centigrade.
